Therapy in Public Schools
Akamai Behavior Analysis is available for contracted services as part of a student’s Individual Education Plan in the public school setting. We work collaboratively with all school employees to facilitate student progress in skill maintenance and acquisition in the school setting. We are available to attend meetings and report the student progress based identified student need using evidence based practices such as behavioral analytic procedures. Our vision for children in the school setting is to have access to appropriate instruction in the least restrictive settings. We work collaboratively with school staff to help increase socially significant behaviors and focus on individual skills as specified in your child’s plan.
If your child’s needs reflect these intensive services, Akamai Behavior Analysis is able to help provide quality care by integrating our dedicated Licensed Behavior Analysts (LBA) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) within the school setting.
Private Insurance
Akamai Behavior Analysis provide therapy through your private medical insurance if your child, or yourself, have a formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder from a medical doctor. Your doctor will make a referral for ABA therapy, and those of us at Akamai Behavior Analysis welcome the opportunity to facilitate your needs.
Akamai Behavior Analysis will conduct a Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA) and develop a treatment plan with families and individual to provide therapy for the behaviors that are important for your child, family, and yourself to live life as independent as possible while planning for the future. The treatment plan will follow the behavioral science principles of ABA with evidence-based techniques and data-based decision making.
Private Pay
Akamai Behavior Analysis offers other services to individuals without formal diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder. However, these services via ABA principles are not covered by insurances in Hawaii at this time. These services include parental consultation and education, weight loss programs, muscle building, social skills, smoking cessation, and any human behavior that one may wish to increase, decrease, or perform in the appropriate environment.
Contracted Educational Assistants (i.e., Skills Trainers)
If a student needs additional one-on-one support or close adult supervision in their Individual Education Programs (IEP), Akamai Behavior Analysis works with the Hawaii Dept. of Education to provide quality services through our dedicated employees who receive monthly training by a veteran Special Education Teachers, Reading Specialists, Speech and Language Pathologists, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts to afford them the necessary skills when working with students.
